Flavor Paper - Brooklyn Toile

Mike Diamond of the Beastie Boys decided he wanted a Brooklyn inspired toile wallpaper that would line the walls of his BK brownstone. The vision was to pay tribute to all things Brooklyn in a way that would appear to be a traditional French Country Toile, but when you step to it the pattern reveals elements and vignettes that make up the truth about the borough.

Katie Kime - Marfa Toile

The Marfa toile print was inspired by its namesake city in Texas, with its vast landscape, wild cacti, starry skies, and magical land art. This cowboy classic is one of the brand’s best-sellers. All Katie Kime wallpaper is printed on-demand and in-house with eco-friendly inks.

Sheila Bridges - Harlem Toile

As an African American living in Harlem, Bridges says she has always been intrigued and inspired by the historical narrative of the decorative arts, especially traditional French toile with its pastoral motifs from the late 1700s. Her Harlem Toile wallpaper  (which lampoons some of the stereotypes deeply woven into the African American experience), has been featured in The Studio Museum In Harlem, The Cooper Hewitt Museum, The Museum of Art and Design in New York City and the Musée De La Toile De Jouy in France.

Bridges says, “I was very specific about the scenes that I chose… I wanted to explore these stereotypes and their exploitive associations, but at the same time, I wanted the Toile to feel celebratory.”
