Custom Toile de Jouy Print for a Greenwich Wedding

This wedding toile was actually commissioned by the bride’s maid of honor. Cate wanted to create special gifts for her sister’s bachelorette weekend in Asheville, N.C. She wanted to design custom beach towels, as the perfect souvenir for the bridal party attendees.

She chose towels because the girl’s weekend included a river rafting trip, which inspired one of our key motifs. We used sketches of the Appalachian mountains and scenes from a typical day tubing on the river. The other motifs were inspired by the couple’s story.

Sarah and Jay own a golden retriever together, who made an appearance in the print wearing a bow tie. The couple had known each other since grade school, so we included the logo of the school where they met.

Now they both work for the same company, and we included that logo, which appeared on a vintage bottlecap. We balanced out the river rafting artwork with scenes of the couple’s favorite interests, which include golf and craft beer.

We rounded out the print with scenes from the wedding weekend itself. We included the iconic local restaurant where the rehearsal dinner was held and a sketch of the country club venue with the happy couple outside.

After seeing the custom towels at her bachelorette weekend, Sarah asked about incorporating the print into her wedding reception. We loved the idea and repurposed the art for cocktail napkins and menus.

The print was a hit with guests and everyone agreed that it was such a unique way to tell the couple’s story. We were sure that other brides must be interested in adding a special touch like this to their wedding day so we added it as one of our package services. We would love to design the perfect print for your big day. Please contact us for details on our design process and pricing.
