Lauren Hughes is the founder and Creative Director of Hughes Studio, a Los Angeles–based design studio devoted to telling stories through pattern. Inspired by the tradition of Toile de Jouy, she transforms meaningful people, places, and memories into richly illustrated patterns designed to feel both timeless and deeply personal.

Raised in Charleston, South Carolina, Lauren developed an early appreciation for historic places, decorative arts, and the stories held within homes and landscapes. Today, she brings that sensibility to her work in Los Angeles, combining old-world craftsmanship with a fresh, editorial point of view.

At the heart of Hughes Studio is a belief that the most meaningful patterns begin with a story. From family histories and beloved destinations to hotels, institutions, and original collections, each design is created to preserve a sense of place—and turn it into something beautiful, lasting, and entirely its own.
