Bespoke Southwestern Toile Wallpaper

Ellie and Corey came to us with an intriguing project idea that we were excited to start working on. They wanted to create a custom toile de Jouy wallpaper for the guest room in their new home, incorporating elements of the beautiful town of Cortez, Colorado. Cortez, located in Montezuma County, Colorado in the area of the Southwest known as the High Desert, is notable for its central location near attractions such as Mesa Verde National Park, Monument Valley, and the Four Corners.

We aimed to include some of these natural features in their custom print. The couple selected Shiprock and Sleeping Ute, illustrated in a modern toile de Jouy line-work style. Their home is nestled between these illustrated natural landmarks, with more intimate scenes like their beloved dog, native yucca plants, and the breathtaking panoramic mountain view behind their backyard.

The custom wallpaper was the perfect addition to their Southwestern-style guest room. Its terracotta color palette and light, airy spacing spoke to the desert location. We opted for illustrations with modern, clean lines to evoke the feeling of the high desert, with its vast open landscape and sweeping views. We have a passion for location-specific design and spaces that exude a sense of place.

We would be delighted to help you tell the story of your home. Please feel free to contact us for information about our design process and pricing.
